Delivering the
curriculum:
·
To enhance our delivery of the curriculum
throughout the school year the children benefit from a wide range of
outings and activities
·
Each year our First Class pupils attend the
Irish Times 'Music in the Classroom' series in the National Concert
Hall
·
Each class has an organised school outing
in June every year.
We also have a variety of visitors to our
school. Our school participates in the Junior Achievement Programme,
and each class has a field trip in June with renowned
environmentalist Eanna Ní Lamhna. The children have also benefited
from a visit from the author Gillian Perdue.
Learning Support/Special Needs:
·
Pupils’ progress is closely monitored in class.
· Our support teachers provide extra help for pupils who need help with reading.
We have a special initiative called 'Power hour'. This is a targeted
literacy programme which enhances reading. We also run a paired reading programme where
parents help the children to practice their reading .
·
St Louis Infant School is an inclusive school and we
accommodate children with special needs.
