Enrolment Policy

Pupils enter St. Louis Infant School from the age of 4 years.

Prospective pupils may enrol at the school by completing a pre-enrolment form. Pre-enrolment forms should be signed as soon as you decide that you would like your child to enrol in the school.

Due to the volume of applications received we wish to advise parents that we are only accepting enrolment forms for 2012, 2013 and 2014 at present. Applications received by e-mail will be acknowledged on receipt.

All pre-enrolment forms will be placed on file and the school will be in contact with parents in the month of December prior to entry to Junior Infants.

Registration Day

Enrolment forms should be signed and returned to the school on Registration Day.

Official enrolment takes place on Registration Day which is held annually in March. Parents and prospective pupils must present on this day with the following :

1)Birth Certificate

2) Completed enrolment form

3) PPS Number

Parent/Teacher Contact

Parents are recognised as primary educators of children and are always welcome at St. Louis Infant School. Should you wish to meet with your child's teacher a suitable appointment time must first be arranged.
Annual parent/teacher consultations take place in the first term.
Progress reports are issued at the end of each academic year.

Code of discipline

All children are expected to adhere to the school's code of discipline. Parents are encouraged to read through it and familiarise their children with the rules. The code of discipline and the anti-bullying policy are available from the school on request.

Uniforms

School uniforms and school tracksuits are supplied by O'Keefes, Wynnefield Road, Rathmines.

Opening Hours

School begins daily at 8.50 am and closes at 1.30 pm. We encourage all pupils to be punctual. Good habits are developed from the early years of a child's life.

Policies

St Louis Infant School has a wide range of curricular and organisational policies. Our Communications Policy and our Code of Behaviour Policy are displayed in the front hall for parents/guardians to read and other policies may be viewed on application to the principal. All curricular areas have their own policy document .Some of our organisational policies include Enrolment, Equality of Access, Safety Statement, Anti-Bullying, Record Keeping, English as an Additional Language, Child Protection, Special Education, Critical Incident, Healthy Eating and Attendance policies.
